Winners of NES Video Contest Announced

Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Electric Service has announced the winners of its Go Green on the Silver Screen video contest. Gretchen Knapp and Jason OBrien were named the grand-prize winners for their video titled O Kilowatt, Where Art Thou? Knapp and OBrien will receive a free In-Home Energy Evaluation and up to $4,500 in home energy improvements provided by E3 INNOVATE. The duos video also received the most votes from YouTube viewers and was named the fan favorite. The video entries were judged by an independent panel of judges. ÔO Kilowatt, Where Art Thou? really captured the spirit of the ÔGo Green on the Silver Screen contest, said Laurie Parker, NES video contest coordinator. Their creativity and the quality of production were topnotch. It is clear that Knapp and OBrien are truly concerned with making their home more energy-efficient. Other winners in the contest include Jennifer and Jonathan Casale for their video titled Home Sweet (Energy-Efficient) Home. Jennifer is the founder of The Green Wagon, an environmentally friendly general store in Nashville. The Casales will receive a free In-Home Energy Evaluation valued at $150. Lauren Collins and Ryan Hirsch of Madison, Tenn., placed third for their video titled When Did You Realize? Collins and Hirsch will receive a $100 Home Depot gift card. One of the goals of the contest was to educate customers about the TVA/NES In-Home Energy Evaluation program. The program provides homeowners with a personalized report of recommended energy-efficiency improvements based on a detailed inspection of their home and offers cash incentives or financing for implementing any recommendations.
