NES Warns Customers About Phone Scam

Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Electric Service (NES) is warning customers to be aware of con artists who are calling area residents about paying their NES bill. “NES never contacts a customer by telephone, or in person, asking for money to pay their NES bill, said Tim Hill, NES spokesperson. All NES field employees wear uniforms and carry photo ID badges, and all of our vehicles are marked with an NES logo and/or vehicle number. NES is encouraging customers to contact NES Customer Relations at 615-736-6900 if they receive a call from anyone they suspect is falsely representing themselves as working for NES. Under no circumstances are NES field employees allowed to take cash from customers for an electric bill payment or any type of work they perform.
