NES Promotes Wesley Allen to VP of Engineering

Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Electric Service (NES) announced today that Wesley Allen has been promoted to Vice President of Engineering. He replaces Paul Allen, who is retiring after 38 years at NES. A professional engineer with 35 years experience at NES, Allen most recently served as Manager of Civil & Environmental Engineering. He has effectively managed multi-million dollar projects including an indoor GIS substation as well as the construction of an underground transmission line that will connect the new downtown Nashville substation to the NES power grid. In Allens new position, he will have a key role in identifying system improvement projects for both the transmission and distribution system. He will also help manage customer installations as well as the utilitys energy-efficiency programs. Active in various professional and community activities, Allen is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and serves on the Property Committee for the Nashville and Middle Tennessee YMCA. He has also served on the Board of Directors for both the Downtown and Bellevue YMCA. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Allen holds a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. He also earned a masters degree in Engineering Administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a masters degree in Business Administration from Belmont University.
