NES Makes In-Lieu of Tax Payment to Metro

Nashville, Tenn. – The Nashville Electric Service (NES) Board approved an in-lieu-of-tax payment for fiscal year 2009-2010 totaling $25,005,702 to the Metropolitan Government at its regular monthly meeting December 16, 2009. NES is the Metropolitan Governments largest tax payer. An additional $1,261,364 in-lieu-of-tax payment was approved to surrounding satellite cities and counties for the fiscal year. NES is a public utility, owned by the ratepayers, and is a valuable asset to this community, said NES President & CEO Decosta Jenkins. We are proud to do our part to support our local government. The vital service we provide contributes greatly to the quality of life we all enjoy.
