NES Hosts Nashville Chapter of National Weather Association

The Middle TN chapter of the National Weather Association visited Nashville Electric Service’s (NES) North Operations and Training Facility to learn about winter weather prep and emergency response.

Jack Baxter, VP of Operations, spoke to the group about how weather impacts the electricity system and why weather forecasters are so important to NES daily operations. Jack also discussed the process of how NES restores power during mass outages caused by severe weather. Visitors were then taken on a tour of the facility which included a safety overview on working with live currents and a pole-top rescue demonstration by Mike Shannon, a Journeyman Lineman. Thank you for visiting us, NWA!
