NES Employees Encourage Students at BEEM Career Fair

Nashville Electric Service (NES) employees recently visited students at Ida B Wells Elementary School for the Business Exchange for the Entrepreneurially Minded (BEEM) Career fair.

NES Engineer Shery Haley and NES Linemen Adam Smith and Micky Thompson spoke to students from Pre-K to fifth grade about their careers in the utility industry. BEEM is designed to give youth early exposure to career options and positive role models who they may not have the opportunity to interact with otherwise.

Held since 1991, the BEEM Career Fair was the first program in Nashville to focus on exposing children, especially less advantaged youth, to business and career possibilities. The BEEM Career Fair is made possible through the Interdenominational Services Organization of America, Inc.
