Courtney Reappointed to NES Board

Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Electric Service (NES) announces the reappointment of Richard Courtney to the Electric Power Board. First appointed to the board in 2007, Courtney has served as chairman and vice chairman and has chaired four of the boards committees. He is a real estate broker with French Christianson Patterson & Associates and previously served as president of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors (GNAR) in 2007 and currently sits on its board. Courtney was named Realtor of the Year by GNAR in 2004 and Tennessee Realtor of the Year by the Tennessee Association of Realtors (TAR) in 2007. He is the author of Buyers Are Liars and Sellers Are Too!, co-author of Come Together: The Business Wisdom of the Beatles and is the real estate columnist for The Nashville Ledger. He currently serves as Federal Political Coordinator for U.S. Representative Jim Cooper, secretary/treasurer for RealTracs Solutions, board member of the Community Resource Center and chair of the Center for Nonprofit Managements Salute to Excellence. Courtney has served on the boards of the Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee, the Belcourt Theater, St. Lukes House, the National Association of Realtors, TAR and the Leadership Team for Leadership Nashville. An alumnus of the University of the South, he is married to Beth Seigenthaler Courtney and has a son and daughter. NES five member board is appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council to serve five-year staggered terms without pay.
