Linemen at NES recently teamed up with NewsChannel5 Nashville (WTVF) to celebrate National Lineman Appreciation Day.
The media outlet met up with linemen at the utility’s North Service center on Myatt Drive in Madison, where reporter Amelia Young interviewed NES employees about their daily service and responsibilities in the field. NES lineman Bryce Ellis spoke about the extensive training, both off and on-the-job, that prospects have to undergo before they can officially become an NES lineman.
Amelia went up in a bucket truck and interviewed a lineman about the December 2023 tornado and what it’s like responding to widespread outages during a severe weather event. Ellis gave details on the process NES crews have in place to respond to storms.
NES has more than 150 dedicated lineworkers employed within the utility who work around the clock to ensure the lights stay on. Click here to watch the full NewsChannel5 interview.
