Planting the right tree in the right place

Spring is a great time to plant new trees on your property. Just remember to be smart about where you plant, especially near power lines.

It may be hard to visualize the height and spread of a tree at its maturity. That’s why NES has created a list of trees that are safe to plant at least 10 feet from overhead lines.

These trees reach an average height of 20 feet and usually will not require pruning to reduce their height due to growing too closely to the power lines.
