Nashville, Tenn. – In 2009, requests for utility assistance rose significantly across the country. Many Nashville Electric Service customers face the dilemma of not being able to afford their electric bills. What would you do if you were left in the cold this winter? You can make sure your neighbors stay warm by adding just $1 to your bill each month through NES’ Project Help. Project Help is a program that allows NES customers to assist the elderly and disabled with their winter energy costs. Project Help generates over $130,000 in donations each year, with 100% of the contributions going directly to individuals in need. Approximately $145,000 has been distributed this year, which is $10,000 more than last year. The program is administered by Big Brothers of Nashville. If you want to help, sign up online.
