Big Wheels and Bright Futures: NES Joins Crieve Hall for Career Day

Crieve Hall Elementary School recently hosted a Careers on Wheels Day, providing Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students a look into the essential professions that keep Nashville moving. NES linemen joined the Nashville Fire and Police Departments to provide hands-on demonstrations of the specialized tools and bucket trucks the utility uses to maintain the city’s power grid. To spark early career interest, younger students dressed in costumes representing their future aspirations while learning vital safety tips from the professionals.

This event continues a long-standing NES tradition of community engagement and classroom outreach. In past years, NES has visited schools including Jere Baxter Middle and Harpeth Valley Elementary, using energized models to teach electrical safety and giving students a firsthand look at the technical skills required for utility work. By connecting heavy machinery with local service roles, NES helps students visualize future career paths in the trades, ensuring that the next generation of engineers and linemen is inspired right in their own school parking lots.
