National Clean Energy Week is an annual observance that runs from September 15-19. It celebrates the policies, industries and innovations that are creating a cleaner energy future. The week highlights various energy sectors, including nuclear, solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal, natural gas and related technologies like carbon capture and waste-to-energy. The goal is to address global challenges while promoting energy independence and economic growth.
Here in Tennessee, the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council (TAEBC) plays a key role in championing advanced energy. TAEBC works to boost job creation and economic development by educating business and public leaders and forming strategic partnerships. According to the 2024 Tennessee Advanced Energy Economic Impact Report, the sector has made significant contributions to our state:
- Generated $55.9 billion in state GDP
- Supported 22,554 businesses and 420,632 jobs
- The average salary in the sector is $74,025
This report shows that the advanced energy sector is outpacing the growth of the overall state economy. Continued investment is expected to attract more companies, create high-paying jobs and improve energy efficiency across Tennessee. NES is proud to recognize and celebrate National Clean Energy Week!
