It’s National Administrative Professionals Day, and NES is honoring all administrative personnel who help the utility carry out its daily operations. National Administrative Professionals Day, also known as Secretaries Day or Admin Day, recognizes the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists and other administrative support professionals.
The observance was first celebrated in 1952 when U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Charles Sawyer proclaimed June as National Secretaries Week. That same year, June 4 was designated “National Secretaries Day.” The name changed to Administrative Professionals in 2000 when the day was also added and the events moved to April. Each year, the day is observed on the Wednesday of the last full week of April.
Administrative professionals are central to keeping any business running smoothly every day. They keep offices organized and efficient, handling day-to-day responsibilities like managing appointments, drafting letters and memos, booking business trips, coordinating appointments, and planning meetings. At NES, we have several administrative professionals across a range of departments that help keep business running as usual. We value all our administrative professionals who are making a huge difference in our community with the work they do to support NES’ business.
Help us celebrate administrative professionals everywhere with the following activities and gestures:
- Celebrate administrative professionals in your organization with flowers, gift certificates, gift baskets, candy, or lunch.
- Share gratitude on social media using #AdminProfessionalsDay.
Happy Administrative Professionals Day!
