NES recently awarded scholarships to students who completed Lipscomb University’s Accelerated Engineering Readiness Opportunity (AERO) Camp.
Ronald Reasonover, Planning Reliability Engineering & Standards Supervisor at NES, spoke at the end of each camp and presented $500 scholarships to Hernan Fullen, Jeremiah Fullen, Dontae Campbell and Hana Hawarami.
The AERO program was developed to support at-risk transition students leaving Metro Nashville Public Schools that are going into a 4-year engineering program. In partnership with Nissan, Lipscomb University offers the two weeklong summer programs to prepare aspiring engineering students for college-level coursework. AERO takes a holistic approach by training high school seniors, rising seniors, transfers, and veterans in crucial math and engineering skills. Students have hands-on opportunities to learn from both industry professionals and Lipscomb College of Engineering and Math faculty members. Throughout the program, students build a valuable portfolio of skills and connect with others in the profession along the way.
