Last week, Nashville Electric Service (NES) and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) gathered at Fort Negley Park to commemorate Juneteenth with the Nashville community at the city’s annual Juneteenth615 festival.
NES and the TVA set up a booth at the festival where they educated community members and attendees on Home Uplift and how to apply to the program. The Home Uplift program provides energy efficient renovations and upgrades at no cost to the homeowner.
The festival featured food trucks, live music, special performances and a firework show. Hundreds of attendees gathered at Fort Negley to honor Juneteenth, America’s oldest-known observance of the end of enslavement in the United States. For more information on Juneteenth615, click here.
