NES Celebrates National Electrical Safety Awareness Month

It’s National Electrical Safety Month! All May, we’ll be sharing various electrical safety tips that we encourage you to use daily. Unbeknownst to most, several small and simple tasks can lead to unsafe conditions that can easily be avoided if you remain cognizant and safety-conscious

Here are a couple of tips to keep in mind as we observe electrical safety this month:

  1. If you have young children, don’t forget to properly childproof your home with outlet covers and know where they should be installed.
  2. Overloaded electrical circuits are a major cause of house fires. Lower your risk by not overloading outlets.
  3. Make sure you and your home are protected with Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs), especially in the kitchen, bathroom and outdoor spaces.

Your safety is our top priority. Avoid accidents by following the tips above. To learn more about electrical safety, follow us on Facebook,  X (@nespower) and Instagram (@nashvilleelectric).
