NASHVILLE, TN- Almetta Bonds knows her job is important. That’s why she does it so well. Bonds is the Supplier Diversity Coordinator with Nashville Electric Service. She helps small, minority and women-owned businesses compete on an equal playing field with larger companies in the bidding process. Her work isn’t going unrecognized.
Bonds received a prestigious Impact Award by the Tennessee Minority Supplier Development Council at their 13th Annual Gala, April 28. Nominated by the companies she helps, Bonds says the award is proof the program works.
Bonds says, “NES has been leading the way in supplier diversity since 1992. I’ve been with the program since the beginning. It’s been successful. This year we are already ahead of our goal in training and educating new suppliers.”
Bonds has been nominated before, but this is her first Impact Award.
