Nashville, Tenn. – Nine additional Nashville Electric Service (NES) crews are headed to Kentucky to get power back on for people left in the dark after this weeks ice storm. The NES team will be working in Owensboro, KY where approximately 19,000 out of 26,000 of their customers are without power. Twenty-four employees will leave Friday morning at approximately 4:30 a.m. from the Kmart parking lot at Long Hollow Pike and I-65. NES officials are not sure how long it will take to complete repairs to the Owensboro Municipal Utilities system. Two NES crews left early Thursday morning for Fulton, KY – a small town on the Kentucky/Tennessee line that was completely in the dark. NES also released 35 contract workers from Davis H. Elliot to assist with the restoration efforts in Clarksville, TN. Those crews left Wednesday.
