Nashville Electric Service (NES) has been recognized as a Tree Line USA utility for the eighth consecutive year. This honor is given to utilities that demonstrate their commitment to providing safe, efficient service while helping protect and preserve community trees.
NES Board Chair Irma Paz-Bernstein and Natalie Billingsby, manager of vegetation management, accepted the Tree Line USA award from state urban forester Brian Rucker during Nashville’s Arbor Day celebration in Centennial Park.
The certification from the Arbor Day Foundation recognizes NES for its quality tree care, annual worker training and public education programs. NES employs six, full-time certified utility arborists, follows specific pruning methods when trimming around power lines, ensures quality tree care consist with best practices from the International Society of Arboriculture and participates in community tree plantings throughout the year. NES also partners with the Metro Tree Advisory Committee, the Nashville Tree Foundation and the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.
NES continues its commitment to proper tree trimming and planting, which has significantly reduced tree-related outages and improved reliability for customers. Learn more about NES’ tree trimming and tree replacement programs.
