Power Down for World Earth Hour

March 22 at 8:30 pm is World Earth Hour, a time that serves as the largest global environment initiative uniting millions of people around the world to care for the planet.

2025 marks the 19th celebration of World Earth Hour, where landmarks and homes everywhere are encouraged to “cut the lights off” for an hour to make a positive impact on our environment. Last year was the hottest year on record, making this decade the hottest Earth has ever experienced. During last year’s World Earth Hour, the movement reached a milestone of 1.5 million hours. This year, the goal is to surpass that number by reaching 2 million hours.

Starting at 8:30 pm local time everywhere, participants are asked to spend 60 minutes doing something positive for the planet, whether it’s cutting the lights off around your home, cooking a sustainable meal, watching a nature documentary or taking a stroll. Partaking in World Earth Hour helps reduce our carbon footprint and reverses the impacts of nature loss.
