A north Nashville church is giving back to Nashville Electric Service customers in the community by covering $30,000 in past due balances for victims of the March 3 tornado.
Lee Chapel AME Church presented a check to NES which wiped out past due balances for nearly 100 customers in their community.
“Lee Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church was blessed to receive so many donations from the community to provide assistance to those affected the March tornado,” said Rev. Harold M. Love, Jr., PhD. “We hope this use of funds will enable these residents to continue on their road to recovery and rebuilding.”
Church representatives worked closely with NES to identify the customers in need of assistance. The check presentation took place at NES on July 24.
