NES Vice President speaks at Vanderbilt’s State of the Environment Conference

Brent Baker, Nashville Electric Service (NES) Vice President and Chief Customer and Innovation Officer, recently served as a panelist at Vanderbilt University’s third annual State of the Environment Conference. Baker participated in the State of Energy panel, where he was joined by Ernie Peterson, Regional Director of Customer Relations at the Tennessee Valley Authority, and Brian Blackmon, Senior Account Manager at Milepost Consulting. The panel was moderated by Anne Davis, NES Board Member and Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt Law School’s Energy, Environment and Land Use Program.

Supported by the Sally Shallenberger Brown Program Fund, the conference brought together faculty, policymakers, and other experts in the Nashville community and surrounding areas for roundtable discussions of major environmental issues in the Southeast. The conference kicked off with a presentation of the second State of the Environment Report, which documents Tennessee’s standing on key environmental indicators. The conference was held in Vanderbilt’s Flynn Auditorium and provided networking opportunities, including a concluding cocktail hour for students, faculty, and attendees to mingle with each other and the panelists.

Congratulations to Brent and the other panelists on this phenomenal opportunity!
