As part of our commitment to Nashville’s schools, NES employees recently participated in Jere Baxter Middle School’s Career Day, an event highlighting its STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) program.
Our employees spoke with students about their professions, offering valuable insights into various roles at the utility. They covered essential topics, including the required educational paths, advancement opportunities, and a look into a typical day on the job. Employees also shared personal stories about their most rewarding experiences and the challenges they’ve faced.
While learning about utility roles, such as that of a lineman, students also explored other career fields presented at the event, including media, marketing, cosmetology, transportation, education, real estate, general contracting and landscaping.
This event is just one of the ways NES supports academic success and personal growth by exposing the next generation to the wide range of career paths available both within the utility industry and in the broader community.
