Tonight, Music City will see the NES dome light up teal in recognition of World PCOS Day. PCOS stands for polycystic ovary syndrome – a genetic, hormone, metabolic and reproductive disorder that affects up to 15% of women in the U.S. and over 20% in some countries. It is one of the most common human disorders, and the most common hormone condition and cause of infertility in women. PCOS can lead to lifelong complications, psychosocial disorders, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, endometrial cancer and other serious and life-threatening conditions.
The World PCOS Day of Unity began in September 2018, and serves as a day where individuals and organizations around the world can come together in solidarity to promote PCOS awareness and support the hundreds of millions of people worldwide who are impacted by PCOS.
