Overnight Power Outage Planned to Repair Substation

Nashville, Tenn. – Approximately 750 customers in South Nashville near Lafayette Street and Murfreesboro Road will lose power overnight for three and a half hours. Work will begin at 1:30 a.m. to replace missing copper at the Wharf Avenue Substation.

According to NES engineers, it is very important that repairs be made right away. The lack of copper grounding could cause the voltage running into individual homes to fluctuate and possibly damage equipment in those homes.

The outage is scheduled for the overnight hours to alleviate heat concerns while customers are without power.
