Nashville Electric Service power board appoints new chair, vice chair

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville Electric Service (NES) has announced the appointment of Irma Paz-Bernstein to Board chair and Rob McCabe as vice chair of the Electric Power Board. 

Paz-Bernstein has been a member of the board since 2013 and is the owner of Las Paletas Gourmet Popsicles. A native of Guadalajara, Mexico, Paz-Bernstein graduated with a communications science degree from UNIVA in Guadalajara before attending the University of California in Los Angeles. She currently serves on the committee for the Children’s Memory Garden of Nashville and is a board member for You Have the Power.  

McCabe, who was appointed to the board in 2009, is chairman of Pinnacle Financial Partners. McCabe served as vice chairman of First American Corporation and held several positions with First American National Bank, including President and CEO of First American National Bank of East Tennessee, First American National Bank of Knoxville, and Executive Vice President of First American National Bank of Nashville. 

McCabe holds a Bachelor of Arts and MBA from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. 

Paz-Bernstein and McCabe will continue to serve with Michael Vandenbergh, Clint Gray and new member Anne Davis on the Electric Power Board. Electric Power Board members are appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council to serve five-year staggered terms without pay.
